Roof Decks

Roof decks are becoming increasingly popular additions for reconstruction and for new construction projects. Roof decks must be waterproofed, regardless of the substrate. Typically, cementitious and fluid applied waterproofing systems are recommended for rooftop deck waterproofing projects. In order to reduce energy costs of homes and decrease the temperature on roofs, use Cool Life branded products such as the 28 series heat reflective coating to reduce the temperature on the surface up to 30%.

There are many decorative options and choices for rooftop decks. Some popular Life Deck coatings designs include wood plank finish, heat reflective coatings, tile patterns, stains, and knock down texture. These systems typically use LD-2 white Life Deck cement.

Life Specialty Coatings recommends different types of waterproofing systems depending on the substrate. If the substrate is plywood, Life Deck AL, AMAC, AL-Flex and LD-2000 are recommended. Concrete decks require a anti-fracture membrane such as the MC system or a urethane system such as the LD-2000.
